Author: Isabella Catherine Howard (1806–1891)
Alternate Name(s): Countess of Suffolk and Berkshire (title); Molyneux-Howard (maiden name)
Biography: Isabella Catherince Howard was born on 29 September 1806 in London, the daughter of Lord Henry Thomas Molyneux-Howard. She was the niece of the 12th Duke of Norfolk. Her life, as may be imagined, was one of wealth and leisure. In 1829, she married her cousin Charles John Howard, 17th Earl of Suffolk and Berkshire and the couple had four children. Relatively late in life, she wrote three novels aimed at young adult readers, all published anonymously by Routledge. She dedicated the first, Minna Raymond (1858), to her sister Henrietta, the Countess of Carnarvon. Her husband died in 1876 and she followed on 20 June 1891 at Charlton Cottage near Malmesbury, Wiltshire. Note: she is identified in the Routledge publication books.
