Author: William Edmund Wood Collins (1848–1932)

Biography: William Edmund Wood Collins was born in 1849 in Cheriton, Wales, the son of author William Lucas Collins. He attended Radley School and Jesus College, Oxford, where he played cricket. Later, he went on to bowl in seven first-class matches. In 1882, he married Margaret Elizabeth Stepford Sackville, the daugher of William Bruce Stepford Sackville. He wrote on a variety of subjects for magazines including Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine. Collins published two works of fiction set in Oxford: The Don and the Undergraduate (1899) and A Scholar of his College (1900). He died in 1932.
