Author: Frances Willoughby Baxter (1806–1870)

Biography: Francis Willoughby Baxter was born in Dundee in 1806, the son of merchant William Edward Baxter. Became a partner in the mercantile firm of Guthrie and Baxter. Thereafter he entered journalism, contributing to Tait's Magazine and other periodicals and editing the Dundee Advertiser. In addition, he wrote one novel, published posthumously, Percy Lockhart (1872). He died in Dundee in 1870.
