Biography: Freda Eardley Wilmot was born on 11 July 1867 in Shoeburyness, the daughter of Major-General Frederick Morrow Eardley Wilmot and his wife Frances Augusta (née Pennington). Her early life cannot be traced. By 1901, she lived in London and wrote a novel The Little Novice (1899) under the pseudonym "Alix King." In the twentieth century, Wilmot would go on to write two more novels, The Romance of a Nun (1909) and The Romance of a Monk (1910). She never married and died on 24 March 1953 in Lancing.
