Author: Anna Jane Buckland (1827–1896)
Biography: Anna Jane Buckland was born 6 November 1827 in London, the third daughter of iron master James Munn Buckland and his wife Sarah Anne (née Smith). She became a schoolteacher, evenually running a girls' school with her sisters in Devizes then Reading. In addition, she wrote several books for young adult readers. She never married and died on 15 December 1896 in Ham, Surrey.
