Author: Francisca Ingram Ouvry (1818–1876)

Biography: Francisca Ingram Ouvry was born on 29 November 1818 in Westminster, the eldest daughter of the wealthy philanthropist Peter Aimé Ouvry and his wife Sarah Amelia (née Delamain). Her father's family descended from Protestant exiles from France which explains her later interest in the Huguenots. As an author, she wrote several historical novels based on the Huguenots. She never married and died on 1 May 1876 in Lymington. After her death, her siblings rebuilt the tower of St. Mary's Church in East Acton in her memory.
