Author: Francis Talbot O'Donoghue (1817–1881)

Biography: Francis Talbot O'Donoghue was born on 12 December 1817 in Tipperary, Ireland, the son of Colonel Daniel Michael O'Donoghue. He attended Cambridge before being ordained in 1842. As a clergyman, he held several livings, including ones in Wellington, Over Peover, Godolphin, Tickenham, Todmorden, and Devonport. In 1853, he married Ellen Pascoe and the couple had seven children. He found time to write two novels, but neither seemed to make much of a mark. He died of a brain disease on 13 March 1881 in Devonport.
