Biography: Harriet Cave was born in 1837 In Tenby, Wales, the third daughter of George Cave of Burfield. Before her marriage, she began writing fiction beginning with The Stony Road (1871). In 1874, she married surgeon George Edward Morton, the surgeon-general of the Indian Army. They may have spent some time in India. She died on 12 December 1910 in Clifton.
