Author: William John Beamont (1828–1868)
Biography: William John Beamont was born on 16 January 1828 in Warrington, the son of solicitor William Beamont. He attended Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge where he earned a B.A. (1850) and M.A. (1853). He remained a fellow of his college until his death. Ordained, he was the curate of St. Michael's Cambridge. An educator and scholar, he wrote several works including one historical novel. He never married and died on 6 August 1868 in Cambridge.
